Built in 1965, the cabin at Alton Pond was a gift from wife (Evelyn) to her husband (Phil) for his birthday. Evelyn and Phil were stewards of the land for many years, eventually passing the property to Ken Alton who has lovingly tended it since 1996. Ken added to the main house in 2005 and has continued to update both spaces in recent years. Alton Pond is named in his honor.

In the spring of 2017, Chris (a Vermonter one generation removed) was looking for "some land with a pond in Vermont" . He got lucky and found Alton Pond. He showed his partner Sashi (Dartmouth College '97) and decided to make the journey in the summer.

  • We did.
  • We were greeted by cows from a local farm, a wonderful summer day and neighbors who gave directions.
  • We met Ken.
  • We laughed, we talked and we knew.
  • The rest is history.

Oh the places you'll go! There is fun to be done! There are points to be scored. There are games to be won. And the magical things you can do with that ball will make you the winning-est winner of all.
